From sourcing strategy to partnership Strategic Sourcing fundamentally decides at executive level on the position of the Business in terms of Strategy and Risk mitigation by leveraging on third party resources, assets, and skills. The key objective is to ensure stakeholder value in a measurable and sustainable way. It is about creating a flexible and adaptive enterprise using an extended enterprise model. It implies the need to acquire outside business and IT resources and services, to manage third-party contracts and associated service level agreements. It is about trust and mutual understanding. Target group The programme is designed for professionals working in information technology. You have completed a HBO or academic study with at least five years work experience. This programme has value for those who are responsible for the (out)sourcing of business or IT processes. It is also meant for those responsible for the retained organisation. Programme The programme offers a broad perspective on all issues of sourcing IT and business process services. We start with discussing the major market trends, such as off shoring. Then you will learn how to define a sourcing strategy and to identify the benefits and risks of outsourcing. In the course you will build a business case and use it as example for defining your tendering and contract management strategy. The role of the retained organisation, human resource as well as legal aspects are discussed in depth. Participants will have learned to understand the key issues in Business Process Outsourcing, IT Outsourcing, and Governance. This should enable them to take strategic sourcing decisions and to steer effectively third parties. The programme is concluded with a formal assignment linked to the own organisation. Strategic Sourcing is a module of the Master of IT Management. Dates The programme is provided in two sessions of four days (Wednesday - Saturday) in September - October of each year.
